SubCom’s upgrade solution will provide greater connectivity by adding six additional wavelengths to the existing system. The TW1 cable system, owned by Transworld, presently covers 1,274km and connects Karachi, Pakistan to Al Seeb, Oman and Fujairah, UAE. The subsea system comprises of a two-fibre pair link with potential capacity of up to 1.28Tbps.
Transworld believes the additional high-speed connectivity will aid the growth of IT and telecoms in Pakistan.

Transworld was started after the deregulation and privatisation of the Pakistani market to provide more routes for the growing volume of traffic in the region.
