The agreement is said to strengthen Inteliquent’s coverage across southern Africa, while providing Vox Telecom with access to Intelliquent’s global Ethernet reach.
Surendra Saboo, president and COO of Inteliquent, said the deal would better serve the needs of its customers in the region.
“Vox Telecom is a well-respected carrier that continues to introduce innovative services, and we are excited to be a part of its product evolution and expansion strategy," he added.
Inteliquent's EtherCloud solution offers over 130 points of presence (PoP) worldwide and the move is said to increase the availability of Vox Telecom's Layer 2 Ethernet services to new locations, particularly in Europe and North America.
"As a leading communications provider in the southern African region, Vox Telecom continues to explore the best ways to fulfil our clients' increasingly demanding network requirements. As we evolve to meet this need, it is imperative that we also collaborate to ensure the best possible solutions, while also meeting our overall business expansion strategies," said Simon Butler, head of data and access at Vox Telecom.
"Through this alliance, not only are we able to serve our current markets, but we are also expanding our Ethernet presence globally to offer comprehensive solutions to Inteliquent and its respective clients."
