The move is designed to strengthen Interoute’s position in the Nordic market for international communications and network services, and doubles Interoute’s presence in Denmark.
Gareth Williams, CEO at Interoute said the move enhances the company’s cloud based network, with a particular focus on video communications. “Following our purchase of VCG last year, the acquisition of Comendo Network greatly enhances our position in Denmark and the Nordic region,” he said. “This gives us critical mass in the Danish market and provides an excellent platform for further development of our cloud based network solutions and video communications.”
Comendo Network’s CEO Jesper Aagaard will take on the role as country manager for Interoute Denmark, and Interoute will also be taking on all of Comendo’s customers, including DSB, Saxo Bank and DONG Energy. All employees will also join Interoute Denmark and work with customers as usual.
The two companies have worked as partners in Denmark in the past and the acquisition is seen as a natural fit for both companies.
“It is a great day for Comendo Network and all our employees and customers. Interoute has a fantastic network services capability and our product and customer portfolio will fit perfectly within this environment,” added Aagaard.
Comendo delivers communications solutions via the national broadband network in Denmark.
