The fibre fulfilment and inventory solution is expected to support retail service providers in New Zealand as they utilise and develop new services on the network.
Alcatel-Lucent will reportedly serve as the systems integrator for Comptel, providing professional project management services as well as deploying the operational support system (OSS) for the network.
“We are delighted to be working with Comptel to provide an OSS system that will assist Chorus and Chorus’ customers to move quickly towards the achievement of New Zealand’s national broadband targets.” said Andrew Miller, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent in New Zealand.
Kari Jokela, vice president, Asia-Pacific at Comptel, said: “This deployment with Chorus demonstrates the continued traction of our Next Generation Fulfillment strategy, and we’re looking forward to seeing through the customer’s high-speed broadband roll-out in New Zealand.”
The contract will run through to the end of 2013.
