NSN will deploy and manage the 3G network for AIS, Thailand’s third largest mobile operator, as it looks to meet growing traffic demand in the Thai market.
Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the network using its Flexi Multiradio Base Station, building on a long standing relationship between the two companies.
Saran Phaloprakarn, vice president of network strategic planning at AIS, felt that the implementation of the 3G network was “crucial”.
“We needed a partner who understands our business, and could deploy and manage our network, enabling us to provide the best service to our growing customer base,” he said.
The company has also been selected by TIM Brasil to build its 4G network.
