Alcatel-Lucent will apply its 400G chip to support capacity of up to 8.8Tbps over a single optical fibre which is said to extend signals’ reach over a longer period.
“The demand for data services is growing by the second and we selected Alcatel-Lucent’s solution to boost the capabilities of our network in order to accommodate future needs,” said Saleem AlBalooshi, EVP for customer operations.

Alcatel-Lucent has also recently carried out successful 400Gbps tests in Canada and France.
