Fitzpatrick’s position will be effective as of May 7, and he will report directly to the group’s enterprise director, Nick Jeffrey.
“Brian has an outstanding track record of running international businesses with a focus on delivering results,” said Jeffrey.
In his previous role at ACN, Fitzpatrick was responsible for operations in 18 countries, and prior to that had held senior roles at BT Wholesale and Teleglobe International.
“He brings with him extensive experience of the carrier services sector and I am delighted to welcome him to Vodafone,” said Jeffrey.
Vodafone is in talks with Verizon Communications for the sale of Vodafone’s 45% stake in Verizon Wireless.
