Conducted by Capacity, the survey looked at the strategic priorities of a range of CEOs and other C-level executives as they attempt to navigate their business through a period of transformation.
Key industry figures gave their reaction to the survey results during a panel session attended by over 300 delegates and presented by motivational speaker Mike Lipkin.
Among its findings, the C100 indicated the industry’s strong feeling of optimism, despite the unprecedented array of challenges presently facing the market.
Three quarters of all respondents in the survey said they were either “confident” or “very confident” in the future of wholesale.
Innovation emerged as one of the key themes of the survey, with carriers seeing it as essential to help migrate up the value chain.
IPX was seen as the dominant area for innovation with 63% of respondents stating that the platform was a major priority for 2013.
The C100 also analysed leadership styles and qualities in the wholesale telecoms market. Asked to describe their own management style, respondents predominantly saw themselves as either “experienced guides” or “entrepreneurs/creative visionaries”, each taking an identical 34.3% of the vote.
Michel Guyot, president of global voice solutions at Tata Communications, and a member of the C100 panel session, said: “This report puts the spotlight on the thoughtfulness and vision of the leaders within our industry. We will need both to successfully navigate the transformation and innovation the coming years will bring."
