EE, the company’s joint venture with Orange in the UK, has been subject to speculation over whether it will float or be sold with private institutions indicating interest in the company.
An executive at Deutsche Telekom told Reuters a decision would be made by 2014. “We are open to both possibilities,” said Claudia Nemat, board member in charge of Deutsche Telekom’s European business.
EE is valued at approximately £10 billion by Deutsche Telekom, and the German company has previously said it is more open to partially listing the business.
Among the reported interested parties is US operator AT&T, and financial investors KKR and CVC which have sounded out banks to make the investment.
Nemat declined to comment on potential suitors for EE.
