The METRO2C Alliance is designed to provide unparallel network coverage critical for the continuity of the internet in the UK. Kcom’s network coverage enables access to over 90% of the UK’s businesses, via its backbone and metropolitan rings.
Kcom operates a number of dense metro networks and offers a wide service portfolio in addition to the deployment of on-demand services, including cloud and content.
With the company now part of the METRO2C Alliance, Kcom will look to enable scalable connectivity solutions, including VPN, Ethernet MPLS, optical wavelengths and dark fibre.
Diane Hodnett, CEO at Sea Fibre Networks, said the cloud computing industry in the UK will be worth approximately £7.6 billion annually in revenues. .
“Working alongside established providers like Kcom puts METRO2C enterprise customers in a position to capitalise on this booming market,” she added.
Sea Fibre Networks launched the METRO2C Alliance in May this year.
