Companies have until 15 November 2013 to apply, with the auction expected to begin in early December.
NPT launched a consultation on the sale process in August this year, and was looking for feedback on its draft proposals from operators.
The country’s Ministry of Transport & Communications (MoTC) said in March it aimed to ensure 100% of Norwegian households had access to basic broadband services within the next couple of years.
NPT said at the time that spectrum in the 800MHz band was “key to fulfilling this objective, as spectrum in this frequency band has superior coverage reach and is therefore ideal for coverage in rural areas”.
One of the obligations of the winners in the 800MHz band will be to offer an average access speed of 2Mbps within five years of the award.
