Interxion’s Amsterdam campus was viewed as an attractive option for the Australian operator as it looks to increase its presence in the European market.
The campus is located in the Schiphol-Rijk area of Amsterdam, and consists of several data centres.
Speaking exclusively to Capacity, Mike Hollands, director of the connectivity segment at Interxion, said: “What that means is that Telstra Global can go into Amsterdam and easily serve not just other potential clients in that data centre, but other clients throughout the whole campus.”
Telstra Global is a key player in the Asian market, and with Interxion’s well-established network of data centres across Europe, Hollands expects the partnership between the companies to address the growing demand for connectivity between Asia and Europe.
Telstra Global launched PoPs in Interxion’s London and Stockholm data centres in October last year, designed primarily to focus on the finance sector through low-latency services.
Interxion’s Amsterdam campus is home to finance, media and cloud customers, which falls in line with Telstra Global’s key focus areas.
Jim Clarke, head of global wholesale at Telstra Global, said: “Telstra have differentiated offerings for vertical segments, and Interxion’s strong presence in financial, media and cloud communities make them a valuable partner for our go-to-market strategy in Europe.”
