The agreement supports SSE Telecoms’ plan to extend its network coverage to every major business district in the country. This programme – known as “Project Edge” – will see SSE Telecoms deploy its own high-capacity PoPs in 54 business districts.
“We selected Zayo for their experience in rapidly deploying networks,” said Chris Jagusz, MD of SSE Telecoms. “This specialisation in dark fibre gave us confidence in their ability to meet both our technical and commercial requirements.”
Services in the London area will go live in the second quarter of 2014.
