New Zealand-born Ives has served as VP of data and infrastructure since the start of last year, and has over 13 years of experience with the company, which also includes heading voice trading as well as sales and marketing

Ives replaces Erik Hallberg, who has been appointed VP of TeliaSonera’s Eurasian division.
The Eurasian business made headlines last year after a review of its operations led to the resignation of CFO Per-Arne Blomquist and four other senior employees. A company investigation by law firm Norton Rose Fulbright found that some transactions in the region had “not been in line with sound business practices”.
Hallberg replaces Veysel Aral, who took over from Tero Kivisaari last February. During Kivisaari’s tenure, investments were made in Uzbekistan which led to allegations of bribery, including the purchase of a 3G mobile network licence.
TeliaSonera appointed Swedish law firm Mannheimer Swartling to investigate the allegations in October 2012. The publication of their report led to the resignation of CEO Lars Nyberg in early 2013.
