A statement from the company read that Barney will be responsible for Flag Telecom, Yipes and Vanco, and his appointment is effective immediately.
Barney will operate out of Hong Kong and Mumbai, while Punit Garg – who has been CEO of the company since 2006 – will focus on Reliance Globalcom’s Indian enterprise business.

Barney has more than 15 years experience in the Asian telecommunications industry and was CEO of Pacnet for 10 years, where he oversaw the acquisition of regional ISP, Pacific Internet.
