Romtelecom is the first carrier in the SEE (south-eastern Europe) region to reach such certification, and it verifies the operator’s ability to deliver state of the art services between carriers.
“Over the past years, we have been proactive in developing strategic partnerships with the best operators and carriers worldwide,” said Dumitru Vlad, wholesale director at Romtelecom.
“This certification brings added value to our services and will facilitate interconnection with regional and global operators, thus leveraging our already strong international footprint in the SEE region.”
The company was awarded the achievement following comprehensive testing of its wholesale services at MEF’s Iometrix authorised test lab.
The certification comes at a time when customer demands are moving from legacy to new generation Ethernet-based services, and Vlad said that Romtelecom is committed to continuing its investment in advanced network technology.
“CE 2.0 certification will open up new markets for [Romtelecom], said Eric Puetz, co-chair and director of the MEF Certification Committee.
“It is a testament of their commitment to the carrier market and recognition of the accelerated adoption of the standards by vendors and service providers across the globe.”
