EE will provide 2G, 3G and 4G services to BT’s mobile customers.
The two companies announced the five-year agreement in October last year, and it has now been finalised. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
The deal replaces the British incumbent’s nine-year partnership with Vodafone, which withdrew from the tender process following its purchase of BT’s rival Cable & Wireless Worldwide.
Experts had expected O2 to win the contract, as the UK operator was a spin-off from BT in 2002.
