BT and EE enter MVNO agreement

UK operators BT and EE have signed an agreement, under which EE will provide BT with mobile services.

EE will provide 2G, 3G and 4G services to BT’s mobile customers.

The two companies announced the five-year agreement in October last year, and it has now been finalised. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

The deal replaces the British incumbent’s nine-year partnership with Vodafone, which withdrew from the tender process following its purchase of BT’s rival Cable & Wireless Worldwide.

Experts had expected O2 to win the contract, as the UK operator was a spin-off from BT in 2002.
