Founded by subsea network operator Sea Fibre Networks, the Metro2C Alliance is an association of connectivity providers, data centre operators and internet exchanges, working to create solutions for the growth of the digital economy.
LDeX Group – which merged with Ping Networks in January this year – owns a 22,000 square foot data centre in London, UK, and its growing reputation as a digital hub makes the group an important addition for the Metro2C Alliance.
“As well as providing mission-critical data centre and network services, LDeX provides a paramount service to the media industry, offering immediate access to satellite downlinks, high-content networks, vast storage capacity and maximum levels of security to protect against downtime, which is imperative for the media streaming, storage, broadcasting and content delivery sectors,” said Diane Hodnett, CEO of Sea Fibre Networks.
The LDeX facility has a carrier-neutral ecosystem and is interconnected to a wide range of Tier-1 and Tier-2 network providers, including Level 3.
“We are delighted to join the Metro2C Alliance as a partner and fully endorse the Alliance’s commitment to bringing together best-in-class service providers to facilitate a reliable IP infrastructure network that end users will feel confident in procuring solutions from,” said Rob Garbutt, CEO of LDeX Group.
Other members of the alliance include European network provider Viatel, communications service provider Kcom and Irish data centre provider Citadel100.
