Slovenian government opens bidding for Telekom Slovenia

The Slovenian government has called for expressions of interest in its 75.6% stake in Telekom Slovenia, Reuters reports.

Slovenia announced initial plans for Telekom Slovenia’s privatisation in September last year, and bids for the company are expected by April 23.

According to state investment fund SOD, Telekom Slovenia is the largest of 15 companies earmarked last year for potential privatisation, and in March, the Slovenia economy minister Metod Dragonja said he expected the company to be privatised by the end of 2014.

Sources told reporters that potential bidders could include Deutsche Telekom and Telenor.

In February, Telekom Slovenia said it was looking to grow its presence in Bosnia.

Capacity Balkans 2014 takes place in Bucharest, Romania on April 7-8.
