The trial was completed in collaboration with Qualcomm subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, and utilised single radio access network (RAN) technology.
The interoperability between Huawei’s existing LTE-A solution and Qualcomm’s 4G LTE modem enabled peak download speeds of 300Mpbs, as well as the delivery of support for up to 40MHz carrier aggregation.

LTE-A technology has started to take hold globally, with South Korea’s SK Telekom thought to be the leader in the technology.
This week, Swedish vendor Ericsson and Hungarian operator Magyar Telekom also announced an LTE-A trial.
