The two companies will interconnect their networks to offer voice, roaming, data and mobile solution services, over what they claim will be one of the world’s largest fibre networks.
The connection will be established between Miami, US and Vienna, Austria, connecting 47 countries and including back-up between Dallas, US and Frankfurt, Germany.
”After having established the partnership with KPN International in Europe I am really proud to announce this global wholesale partnership with América Móvil,” said Stefan Amon, head of wholesale at Telekom Austria Group.
“The common infrastructure throughout 47 countries will be one of the largest worldwide therefore we can provide our customers with high quality data services.”
The Telekom Austria Group is also one of the first providers to use America Movil’s Latin American voice hub in Miami which is designed to process the entire voice traffic of the company in the future.
“We are happy to be working together with Telekom Austria Group and thus benefit from the excellent technological and local know-how of the company in CEE,” said Domingo Asiain, head of wholesale at América Móvil.
“We see excellent operational synergies since both parties focus on superior quality.”
Today’s partnership follows an announcement from América Móvil in February 2014 confirming that it wanted to invest in Telekom Austria.
