The move will see the four global carriers implement a set of industry principles across a range of services and platforms, including improved technical reach and interoperability in roaming signalling, transport, SMS and IPX.
The agreement also aims to combat fraud in the wholesale market by sharing tools and best practices.
“I am delighted we have joined the Chicago agreement. This will further enrich services provided to subscribers for our retail mobile operations in 13 countries around the world in improving end-user experience and increasing interoperability of mobile services,” said Bjorn Iverson, CEO, Telenor Global Services.
The four carriers provide services to a total of 800 million retail subscribers across 65 countries.
The alliance is open for other global carriers around the world sharing the same objectives.
