Hurricane Electric owns and operates what it claims to be the world’s largest IPv6-native internet backbone, and the PoP in Edmonton is expected to help Wolfpaw meet the growing demand for high-speed IP transit from its customers.
“With the opening of Hurricane Electric’s eighth Canadian PoP, it is clear that the country’s telecommunications market is expanding at an impressive rate,” said Mike Leber, president at Hurricane Electric.
“We are excited to facilitate that growth and provide additional connectivity options to Edmonton’s bustling technology sector.”
Wolfpaw’s Edmonton data centre allegedly features state-of-the-art equipment to maintain it uptime, as well as round-the-clock security, an NOC and fully automated air conditioning.
Hurricane Electric has been expanding extensively this year, with launches in South Korea, Serbia, Spain and Japan amongst others.
