The new PoP is the first in a number of deployments in EdgeConneX facilities that Telia Carrier is expecting to announce in the coming months, as it looks to expand its metro fibre network.
Telia Carrier has also enhanced its metro fibre network in the region by adding new diversified route options to adjacent cities including Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa, Arizona.
The expansion in Phoenix will allow its cloud network customers and carrier partners to connect in-market, helping to avoid unnecessary latency, the firm aid. It is part of a wider expansion of Telia Carrier’s 100Gbps fibre network in the North America region.

The expansion into Phoenix means Telia Carrier’s cutomers can eamlessly connect to its global internet backbone, AS1299, one of the first ot be 100G-enabled in both Europe and North America. Telia Carrier currently connects more than 230 PoPs across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
