The launch of dedicated access in London brings the total number of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure locations enabled by Megaport to four metros in North America and Europe, with 13 FastConnect locations available globally.
The service is enabled by Megaport’s software defined network (SDN) which offers on-demand cloud connectivity to enterprise customers with dedicated links to Oracle’s infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings.
With the launch of Oracle’s new FastConnect services in London, Megaport customers have the option to bypass the public internet to connect to Oracle European cloud infrastructure from anywhere on Megaport’s global SDN.
“Businesses are increasingly in need of direct connectivity to their cloud applications to support the increasing volume of mission-critical data produced by next-generation technologies. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect is a powerful product which, when combined with Megaport’s Software Defined Network, allows customers around the world to build optimised cloud strategies,” said Vincent English, CEO, Megaport.
“Our tight alignment with Oracle enables us to bring this service to market rapidly and provides greater access to Oracle’s integrated services and support for the deployment of critical workloads in this cloud-first era.”
Megaport also announced it is enhancing hybrid network connections to Google Cloud’s global network with its SDN capability.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect allows enterprises to connect to Oracle Cloud through partner data centres, with a direct connection to services and applications with include solutions for ERP, HCM and CX.
