The new network, which strengthens the company’s presence in North America, is part of the company’s strategic investment in its Transatlantic subsea cable network.
Colt’s five subsea cables, connecting Europe and the US, include the iconic Grace Hopper and Yellow (AC-2) cables.
The fibre-optic infrastructure links the cable landing stations to key East Coast data centres, offering businesses improved performance and reliability.
Annette Murphy, chief commercial officer at Colt said: “Our customers are looking to overseas markets to boost their growth potential, and the Transatlantic route unlocks exciting new opportunities for them.
“Building our own digital infrastructure in the US helps these businesses meet their growth targets, supported by a partner they know genuinely cares.”
The first phase of the project is now complete, with routes connecting Long Island, New York, to data centres in Manhattan already operational. Additional routes are set to launch between now and mid-2025.
