Wireless data traffic will double every year from 2009 to 2014 at 108% CAGR, predicts Telesperience.

In its report on the key strategies for solving the capacity crunch, it found that 63% of network experts surveys claimed that their networks were experiencing congestion. Most were concerned about the impact of the data crunch on the customer experience of data services.

Asian and US operators found congestion to only be a problem in specific geographical areas; while European respondents found that congestion was most common at specific times of day. Middle Eastern and African operators, however, claim that they are currently coping with data trafficking demand.
