For the first time, Singapore has entered the top 10 countries in terms of value for consumer broadband, after its broadband prices dropped from $0.9 per megabit of bandwidth to $0.271 between the second and third quarters of 2010.
“Nine of the 10 best value tariffs are either pure fibre or hybrid offerings where fibre is a significant part of the local loop,” says Fiona Vanier, senior analyst at Point Topic. The exception is Germany, where Unity Media offers a very competitive cable service.
