Mobile to make up 3.4% global ad spend by 2015

Mobile marketing and advertising is predicted to be worth €13.5 billion, accounting for 3.4% of global ad spend by 2015. This figure is estimated to account for 15.7% of the total digital advertising market.

Analyst firm Berg Insight predicts that over the next five years revenue from mobile advertising will grow from €1.7 billion in 2009 at a CAGR of 41%.

The heavy increase to advertising revenue is attributed to the increased popularity of mobile devices. Companies are now adopting new mobile marketing strategies in order to promote their brands while integrating with other traditional forms of media.

Globally, there are 5 billion active mobile subscriptions compared to 2 billion internet users, making mobile the most direct way to communicate with customers.
