The contract will see Ericsson develop Telenor Sweden’s field services, including field maintenance and implementation services across its fixed and mobile networks. Ericsson hopes that this deal will give the company experience in the service area and reinforce its footprint in Sweden.
Robert Puskaric, head of region northern Europe and central Asia, Ericsson, said: "Today managed services is one of the fastest growing areas in the telecom industry.” The company claims that their service business has grown significantly in the last few years and predicts this demand will continue to increase.
As part of the deal, 44 Telenor employees will join Ericsson’s Swedish service organisation in July this year. Ericsson already supplies Telenor Sweden with services such as IMS, transmission networks and service platforms.
Magnus Zetterberg, CTO, Telenor Sweden, said: “The industrial partnership between us will strengthen our competitiveness and be of great benefit to our customers throughout Sweden."
