Yesterday’s World IPv6 Day saw almost 400 organisations taking part in the 24 hour ‘test-flight’ of IPv6.
We are still awaiting the results of the trial but the event’s organisers, the Internet Society, said on its website: “The vast majority of users were able to access services as usual, but in rare cases, users experienced impaired access to participating websites during the trial.”
One of the trial’s main aims was for companies to identify any unforeseen problems with the new system to prepare them for the reality of IPv6.
