China holds the greatest share of the market with 64% and India holds the second largest with 15%.
Low income and rural users will account for most of the growth in mobile subscribers between 2010 and 2015. Due to the limited disposable income of these users, the period will see a surge in subscriber numbers but this will not directly translate into revenue growth. The strong economic growth in the region has created a bigger middle-class socio-economic group but there is still a large amount of the population that will not be able to afford telecoms services. This means mobile revenue growth will begin to slow at lower penetration rates in the emerging Asia-Pacific countries than in other growth regions.
