Alexander cited personal reasons for his decision to leave the joint venture between Orange UK and T-Mobile UK. He joined Orange three years ago as CEO of the UK business and became CEO of Everything Everywhere in July last year following the merger in April. Alexander was already well known in the UK mobile sector having founded Virgin Mobile in 1998 and worked within the industry for over 25 years. “There is never an easy time to leave a company that you care deeply for but, for personal reasons, I feel now is a good moment to step back,” said Alexander.
Alexander’s resignation comes after a reported loss of earnings at the end of last year compared to the combined earnings of T-Mobile UK and Orange UK from the previous year.
Swantee is the EVP of European activities and sourcing for France Telecom Orange and already sits on the board of Everything Everywhere. He brings with him 17 years experience in the IT industry having held senior positions with HP, Compaq and DEC in Europe and the US.
