According to reports, the company announced profits of approximately $56.4 million with revenues increasing 28% to $591 million.
During the quarter, du added 171,000 mobile subscribers and saw its mobile revenues achieve a year-on-year increase of 32%.
The second quarter financial results highlight du’s growth since first entering the market in 2007. The company has continued to take the fight to sole rival Etisalat, and now serves over four million customers out of a population of approximately six million.
Following a recent fixed-line network sharing trial, Etisalat and du are also set to begin competing for fixed-line subscribers in broadband and voice at the end of this year (click here).
