The addition of Colt Technology Services, GTS Central Europe and Norway-based Broadnet to the Equinix Carrier Ethernet Exchange (ECEE) platform takes its total of carrier and cloud service provider partners around the world to 55.
The new service providers between them hugely extend Equinix’s Ethernet footprint across Europe. Colt brings extensive coverage across the continent, allied to its presence in the US, while GTS has network assets throughout central and eastern Europe. Broadnet covers most of Scandinavia. For their part, the three gain access to Equinix’s community of global Ethernet partners, it said.
“With the ever increasing adoption of Ethernet services, the additional interconnection opportunities offered through the ECEE opens up new business opportunities,” said Lutz Blank, vice president of marketing at Colt. “This will enable seamless interconnection with Colt’s European information delivery platform, and complements the existing E-NNI interconnections with our partners.”
“ECEE gives Broadnet important competitive differentiation and economies of scale, which allows us to compete on an international stage,” said Jørn Slåtten, marketing manager of Broadnet. “Having joined ECEE, Broadnet is positioned to capitalise on the fast-growing demand for enterprise-class global Ethernet services.”
Meanwhile Selerity, a provider of data solutions for the financial services industry, has co-located in Equinix’s Frankfurt data centre to help it to provide low-latency local access to customers. Selerity is already co-located with Equinix in Chicago and Secaucus in New Jersey.
