Sprint, which has understandably been very vocal in its opposition, filed a lawsuit in September to block the deal. This private antitrust case follows the US Department of Justice’s (DoJ) lawsuit to stop the deal which was announced in late August.
According to reports, Sprint reportedly requested access on Monday to documents AT&T had already supplied to the DoJ’s antitrust division in order to compile its own case.
The request was turned down by US district judge Ellen Huvelle, in what can be perceived as a rare victory for AT&T in its quest to push through the deal.
