The agreement means both companies can provide a range of additional Ethernet services, working across respective MPLS networks and aiming to address a rising demand for international connectivity from its customers.
For PCCW, the deal gives the Asian operator an additional reach across the Mediterranean through Cyta’s extensive network in the region and extends its partnership with the company. Frederick Chui, SVP of global marketing and sales at PCCW said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship into the Ethernet services as it complements our commitment to providing our customers with integrated global communications of the highest quality.”
Yiannis Koulias, director of Cyta’s national and international wholesale market added: “The enhancement of our international MPLS services through the introduction of global Ethernet services enables Cyta to provide new, state-of-the-art solutions to its customers.”
He continued: “The cooperation with our long-standing partner PCCW Global, a leader in this field, provides Cyta with the capability to extend its network deployment in the most areas of the world.”
