The new company, named Bytemobile China Communication Services will provide traffic management and data optimisation solutions to service operators throughout the country.
In the past 15 years, China has built an extensive mobile infrastructure that now supports the largest subscriber base in the world. Market forecasters predict operators in China will soon experience strong mobile growth towards one billion subscribers and develop a rapidly growing market for 3G services. LTE trails are also expected to be adopted by all operators in the region, in a bid to address the shift towards increasingly data-intensive applications such as video.
“Together with China Comservice, we are well positioned to continue broadening and deepening our leadership in the region." said Hatim Tyabji, chairman and CEO of Bytemobile.
The joint venture is still subject to regulatory approval from the Chinese government, which is expected later this year.
