The AMS-IX grew to a collection of 500 unique internet parties thanks to this 20% growth in new customers and saw a 32% growth in capacity to 5.2 Tbps of connected capacity.
The volume of growth symbolises a boost in overall business for the non-profit organisation. More than 60% of the new connections originated from the efforts of partners and resellers.
Job Witteman, AMS-IX CEO explains, “European networks were quick to see the cost benefits of joining AMS-IX in the early Internet era. What we now see is that Asian Middle Eastern and African networks are also taking advantage of these benefits as they develop into cross regional networks.”
