2011, how was it for you?

Throughout 2011, the Capacity editorial team has continued to bring you all the breaking industry news from across the world.

From the disruptions to global IP traffic caused by the Arab Spring and subsequently the Japanese earthquake, to all the major deals (Level 3’s acquisition of Global Crossing was certainly a serious game changer) and drama (AT&T’s ongoing attempts to takeover T-Mobile USA springs immediately to mind), we have consistently delivered extensive coverage of them all.

Now, however, I would like to take this opportunity to swing the spotlight 180 degrees onto what’s been going on over at the Capacity office. This year has been one of the busiest yet for the Capacity editorial team, following the launch of the Capacity magazine website.

The site has provided us with an exciting new platform for not only delivering all the latest news on the wholesale telecoms sector, but for you the readers to put forward and exchange your views and opinions. Through a combination of our Twitter feeds, polls and comment boxes, we have been able to give the Capacity brand the interactive presence it so richly deserves.

Mid-way through the year, the introduction of CapacityTV in particular proved to be a popular addition to the site. Now hosting over 20 video interviews with a range of leading executives from across the industry, our video library is growing by the day and includes many of the familiar faces you will see collecting Capacity magazine Awards.

Meanwhile, the magazine has, as ever, continued to be a leading voice for the market. This edition marks the one year anniversary of the magazine’s redesign, which has seen a warm reception to features such as ‘The Big Interview’ and ‘company strategy’. We aim only to build on all this progress during 2012, and look forward to seeing you all then.

In the meantime, merry Christmas and a happy new year!
