The provider’s CDN capacity has been expanded to 5.6Tbps from 2.15Tbps in late 2010 with CDN services now offered in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Medellin, Colombia; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; as well as Montreal and Toronto, Canada.
“Level 3 has the network platform and capabilities to deliver a truly scalable, efficient CDN that grows as our customers' businesses grow," said Anthony Christie, CMO for Level 3.
Level 3 has also said that it will continue to work to grow its deployments in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and North America.
CDN represented approximately 2% of Level 3’s core network services revenue in 2011.The company expects its CDN offering to continue to represent the same amount for 2012.
