Ahmed Mekky has been appointed to the Pacific Telecommunications Council’s (PTC) board of governors. Mekky is CEO and co-founder of GBI. He successfully led the company in building the Middle East’s first privately owned and independently operated submarine cable.
Mekky joins the PTC board as the first CEO from a Middle Eastern company, representing GBI’s interests in Asia-Pacific.
He has over 15 years of experience in the telecoms sector across the Middle East and North Africa. Before founding GBI he worked with several companies on projects involving telecoms infrastructure and satellite communications.
