The solution means Telefónica’s O2 network can rapidly respond to dynamic network conditions; in addition to ensuring O2 has greater visibility for existing customers and those visiting the games.
ariesoGEO claims it provides a precise geographic understanding of the demands for voice and data in busy regions.
O2 said that given the influx of over one million visitors in the country, there has been a greater need for effective network management during the games. It says it has rolled out new infrastructure to those areas encountering the highest levels of voice and data traffic.
ariesoGEO’s solution allows the mobile network operator a greater analysis of hotspots and bottlenecks, and the ability to identify dropped and blocked call locations and causes. The company claims this allows o2 to prioritise its network resources, make adjustments to optimise performance and provides real-time analysis of customer experience throughout London.
“This summer, we have a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the superb service levels that our customers have grown to expect, unhindered by the volume of users on the network,” said Richard Owens, O2’s regional manager mobile access London.
“Key to providing this level of service during the event will be the speed and agility with which we will be able to react to changing demands on the network. ariesoGEO enables us to monitor the network in near real-time, where possible react immediately, and then ensure an improved service across the remainder of the event.”
ariesoGEO has worked with major mobile operators in the past for major events including the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the US SuperBowl and World Series in 2011.
