Ericsson will be responsible for the maintenance and management of Netia Group’s network, and support the provision of services to Netia Group’s residential and business customers.
The contract expands upon a previous agreement between the two companies and expands its geographic reach to include the networks of Telefonia Dialog and Crowley telecommunication, which were acquired by Netia in December 2011.
"The contract we signed with Netia in 2006 was one of the first worldwide fixed-line Ericsson contracts. This is the second time we prolonged this managed-services partnership, and it is a clear acknowledgement from Netia of the work we have done together to provide high-quality, unified services to Netia Group's entire user base, including the users added through Netia's recent acquisition of operators Telefonia Dialog and Crowley," said Valter D'Avino, VP and head of managed services at Ericsson.
Also included in the contract is the transfer of approximately 190 additional Netia employees to Ericsson Poland.
"We are happy our partnership with Ericsson has just been extended. We believe this contract will deliver even more effective and integrated handling and management of Netia Group's networks and service delivery," said Miroslaw Godlewski, president of the management board and Chief CEO at Netia.
