Qtel has appointed Dr Bassam Hannoun as CEO of its subsidiary National Mobile Telecommunications Company (Wataniya).
He will replace acting CEO Abdulaziz Fakhroo, who will resume his role as deputy CEO.
Hannoun was most recently CEO of Wataniya Mobile Palestine where he was responsible for a successful IPO and growth of operations.
Before this he was CEO of WiMAX operator wi-tribe Jordan, another Qtel Group subsidiary.
“The board is entrusting an internal, proven leader to head Wataniya Kuwait’s team,” said Qtel Group Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Thani.
