The agreement forms part of the Irish operator’s strategy to move into the delivery of IT and cloud services for businesses. eircom will become part of the AWS Partner Network, which now includes telecoms companies.
The operator said that the agreement would accelerate its plans to provide flexible, secure and pay per use cloud services to customers based on an IT infrastructure model.

“eircom will now be able to bring greater efficiency to businesses in Ireland and the UK, working directly with customers to scope, design, migrate and manage the cloud solution most appropriate to their specific needs.”
The service will initially be targeted at large and medium enterprises, public sector organisations and multinationals with operations in Ireland.
