The deal will allow Telenor to sell licences for Office 365 and to offer telephony services within Lync Online and Office 365.
Telenor Norway will cooperate with enterprise arm Telenor Business Internet Services to offer solutions to business customers.
The carrier’s enterprise customers will be able to receive both mobile business internet services and Microsoft Office 365 in a single package from January next year, while voice integeration is expected to be ready during the fourth quarter of 2013.
“Through this agreement, we are expanding our provision of cloud computing services with a solution that covers the communication needs of companies in one single package. We think this will satisfy a market need that is currently not being met,” said Bjørn Ivar Moen, head of business at Telenor Norway.
The combined mobile and Office 365 solutions will both be accessible in the cloud and run by Telenor and Microsoft data centres.
“With Telenor’s telephony services fully integrated into Lync Online and Office 365, companies will be able to optimise their telecoms, collaboration and IT infrastructure. We have already seen considerable interest amongst customers for this type of solution in the markets where Telenor will be launching the service,” said Dagfinn Ringås, director of business and partners at Microsoft Norway.
