The move is designed to support Cebu Pacific’s website with an increasing influx of capacity and traffic, serving approximately 250,000 customers daily.
Rackspace has provisioned an infrastructure designed for passenger spikes, which aims to accommodate 900,000 concurrent users while maintaining a functioning online experience.
According to companies, the partnership will enable Cebu Pacific to accommodate 40% more traffic load. The deal further enables Cebu Pacific to leverage Rackspace’s SLAs, and the airline will be able to position itself for new advanced operations from Rackspace on a technical basis.
“Cebu Pacific receives 55% of its bookings online, so the website is a fundamental part of our business,” said Michael Shau, VP for People and Administration at Cebu Pacific. “With Rackspace as our hosting partner, we are provided with a 100% network uptime guarantee. This gives us great comfort, especially during seat sales when we experience peak website traffic.”
Cebu Pacific is also deploying an internal SharePoint environment for more efficient content management processes.
