Based in TeleCity’s data centre, the PoP is designed to offer NTT customers access to Sweden and the wider Nordic region, including Russia and the Baltic states of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.
Clive Hamilton, head of global IP network in Europe at NTT Communications, highlighted the Nordic region as one of the “most stable and prosperous economies in Europe supported by thriving manufacturing and service industries”.
“This additional region will help organisations to gain greater competitive advantage in their global operations and connect with growth opportunities in the Asian market,” he added.
NTT has a total of 80 PoPs worldwide and last year launched 10 locations throughout Europe, including Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Milan, Sofia and Vienna.
The launch of the Swedish PoP follows a recent partnership with Danish provider TDC earlier this month.
