The trial, claimed to be the first of its kind in Russia, took place at the ZNIIS Techno Park in Moscow and successfully demonstrated 8Tbps of DWDM capacity across a distance of 1,175km.
Infinera said the network configuration provided flexible service add/drop and non-blocking OTN-switching, enabling traffic demand including 100 Gigabit Ethernet services 40Gb/E, 10Gb/E and 10Gb SDH services.
“We are impressed by Infinera and the DTN-X solution, especially by its ability to quickly deploy and launch a DWDM line to demonstrate long-haul transmission,” said Svetlana Yarlykova, scientific director at FSUE ZNIIS.
“The equipment was easy to operate. We are confident that Russian service providers will see the value in Infinera’s next-generation solution, offering an architecture that’s simple and reliable due to photonic integration.”
